Sunday, 13 August – Manistee, Orchard Beach SP

Got up at 12.30 am to watch the meteor shower.  Sat out laid back in my recliner all snuggled up in a duvet and watched the clear starry sky.  I’m sure I saw three meteors streaking across the sky but they are fast little suckers and they all happened where I wasn’t looking directly, so only caught them out of the corner of my eye.  Next big sky event is the total eclipse of the sun on 21 August.  We will need to position ourselves somewhere more south to get a good view of that.

It was only 14C when we got up and the day peaked at 22C, it was sunny though and the wind wasn’t as strong as yesterday.  We do need to move further south though, to get back into real summer temperatures.

We redesigned the bike cover so the sewing machine had another outing.  Kim played with the drone, the neighbours were quite interested and we also did some planning for future stops and RV repairs, maybe near Chicago.

Finished a Ken Follett book and started a Lee Childs one.

Going on line now to see if we won the Michigan power ball power play which has jackpotted to $356,000,000! Obscene amount of money, but don't by concerned, we didn't win - this time!
