After our morning teas, brekkie and coffee we are off to
explore. We are told there is a cougar
in these here parts and foxes, as well as the more usual raccoons, deer, geese etc. We definitely see evidence of the cougar and yikes it is well within pouncing distance of our campsites!
Fresh cougar footprint!! |
We see bass and even a turtle in the fishing lake, woodpeckers
pecking in the trees, wild flowers and it’s a lovely place to be.

Must have been away exploring for a good couple of hours so it’s time for a
swim and a relax at the pool.
Distant thunder promises a shower later and true enough just
as HH begins, it starts to drizzle but only lasts a short while so we are back
outside and building the fire ready to cook our sausies. Darn - a bit more precipitation but the fire doesn’t
seem to mind.
Fire flies are hunted down and captured - for photography. This is what they
look like close up - no animals were harmed in this project!
A real live firefly, it even glowed in the hand! |
