Another hot one today, 31C when
we headed off at 10.30am. Just 72 miles ahead
of us to Colonial Beach, with a couple of stops along the way. We drive through Tappahannock then cross the
Rappahannock River, nope - not a typo!
Then take the scenic Hwy 3 up to Colonial Beach which lies alongside the Potomac
River.
About to cross the Rappahannock River |
Yep, def 99 degrees F |
Photo to tease Kim - he still hasn’t had McD and its been 66 days! |
Harbor View (reminds us of home)
is only about 65 miles south of Washington DC central and is just two miles
away George Washington’s birthplace! Haven’t
had much of a look around yet, just checked out the pool and surrounds, it is 39C
outside so we stayed inside most of the afternoon, although I braved an hour outside in the
shade and hot fresh air with my book. This
resort is probably the last Thousand Trails CG we will get to stay at until we
get back south again, the southeast zone we purchased terminates in
Virginia
There is no internet here
although excellent cell coverage and we have TV. The news is all about the local heat wave and
today marks the hottest of the year, so far.
Thunderstorms threaten later but there’s only a 30% chance. I like the way the meterologists cover their
bases by suggesting a percentage of any possible weather event. A movie keeps us entertained until it is time
to turn in for the night.
66 days, omg! What a taskmaster! Is Kim getting grumpy, or over it? My max is about a month
