Saturday, 3 June – Tom Sawyer RV Park, West Memphis, TN

Another beautiful day in Paradise, sunny and warm.

Leaving Lake DeGray State Park - house boats
We are on the road by 9am, heading straight up the I30 until Little Rock and then east on I40, just because we wanted to get some miles under our belt today, big day for us - 200 miles which is about 3 hours, plus we need to stop for supplies and diesel.

The roads were good, but super busy with trucks.  Even took a photo at one point as all we could see coming towards us westbound was a sea of trucks!   Some wag on the CB wondered if there were free doughnuts further west!  And I thought rail moved a lot of stuff here?

Trucks heading west as far as the eye can see!

Around 2pm we arrived at Tom Sawyer RV Park, in West Memphis.  Funnily we are still in Arkansas, but once we cross the Mississippi, which is right outside our front window, we will be in Tennessee.

We are in site 63, looking over the Mighty Mississippi

Kim loves playing with his drone!

Drone is lots of fun!
The strangest pet we have seen yet over here - Daisy the pot belly, being walked by her owner along with two pugs!  I feel a song coming on - pigs and pugs!  The Mississippi is running fast, maybe 10 knots and the many barges, some three across and six or seven long are pushed against the flow at a small rate of knots.  The barges coming the other way do not struggle at all to make way.

C&C weren’t here when we first arrived but by the time we had set up and checked out the scenery, they were back, so caught up with them for a couple of HH hours : )  Just like old times!
