Tuesday, 26 September – Rooster Creek - Bens CG, Lake Texoma SP, near Kingston, OK 73439

The sunrise is just as beautiful here as elsewhere.  A few boats were heading off to try their luck catching ‘the big one’.

Stunning Sunrise
Look at these strange fruit, they are Hedge Apples, also known as bodarks or bois d’arc, to use their French name. Squirrels and deer love them apparently.  They are a member of the mulberry/fig family. Apparently you can eat part of them, but Terri, the camp host told me they are toxic to humans?

We went for a wander down the road, around to the marina, there are about 6 boat shelters but they were all locked.  Great place for a pontoon party boat! What I thought was a café (I could see a Budweiser light in the window) is just the marina office, no dinner out for us tonight.

Catfish Marina

It got so hot in the afternoon we couldn’t stay outside so pulled out the 500 piece jigsaw puzzle we bought at Dollar Tree and started it, around 4pm. I measured it and it fits on the dining table but we got a piece of ply from underneath to lay it on so we can move it.  After one break for a bite to eat we called it quits at midnight with it about 60% done.  They get you every time don’t they!
