Woke early enough to watch the first rosy fingers of dawn appear
out of the mist on the lake and develop into a lovely sunrise! We were even ready to get on the road by 8.30 am. Our mission today is to swing by the O’Reilly’s at Springdale to pick up the exhaust elbow we ordered online, it should be there this morning.
We drive around the top of Beaver Lake almost to the state line and then down the other side about 35 miles. We are on the road so early we startle a family of deer at the road side who then promptly run across the road in front of us – yikes!
O'Reilly's rises to the occasion, the elbow is ready for us - sometimes the system works : )
BTW, this is how Americans make a new on-off ramp. Where are the safety cones? |
On a softer note, this dude is taking his stuffed monkey for a ride, bless! Nice the rider has a helmet!! |
Next stop is Walmart, Kim needs a grinder to cut the elbow
to size - any excuse!
Then we drive back west a little ways to the east side of Beaver
Lake hoping to get a site at Hickory Creek Park.
There is only one night available for tonight, but if any of the five ‘walk-up
sites’ become free, we can snaffle one of those and stay for the weekend, so we wait and watch.
The lake here is super calm and our site is
almost fully shaded by trees, which is nice in the sunny 28C we have today.
Kim gets started on the exhaust and all goes well, the
grinder did its shop admirably- good shopping! He is
happy with his day's work!
Old and new!! |
