Sunday, 24 September - Lake Murray State Park, OK

Woke early enough to watch the dawn arrive, followed by a colourful sunrise.  It was a respectable time, about 7am.

We decided to stay here one more day, it’s such a nice site with the beach etc.  80% of the park has emptied out during the day and we almost have it all to ourselves again.  The picnic table was bombarded by caterpillars again so took the opportunity to get a photo.  Also got some of the turtle heads but you can’t see what they are in the photos so haven't posted any.

Furry lil caterpillar
Jean (from Milton) came by to visit again and brought us some lovely fresh free range farm eggs, one of the rangers brings them in.  Boiling some up for dinner tonight, the yolks are bright yellow and look just like NZ eggs.

Even though it was quite breezy today it was deemed to be no more than 24 mph so Kim flew the drone and got some pics of our campsite on Lake Murray.  He didn’t want to take it up too high in case it didn’t come home!

Looks like the motorhome roof is blue in this photo, but this is our corner of Paradise.
This unseasonal warm weather (about 8 F higher than usual) is due to come to an end on Wednesday with rain and cooler temperatures forecast,  We won't be very far away by then so will probably get it too. They need rain here, haven’t had any in some parts since the end of August and the lake is very low.

  1. What are you up to? Haven't heard from you since Sunday and tomorrow is Friday here. Actually we have a beautiful Wellington day here today, so we don't feel quite as envious as we have done, looking at all your blogs of lovely weather...at the moment....supposed to change back to normal grey days tomorrow in time for Opening Day.
