Thursday, 15 June - Cumberland Mt State Park, Crossville, TN

Woke to a stunning azure blue sky, sunlight filtering through the trees and a woodpecker keeping a staccato beat close by.  And it’s not too hot - 25 C. Heaven!

This is a lovely State Park, well laid out and cared for.  The campsites are extra long, paved and the sites are separated by trees so nice and private.  We have our own clean dedicated garbage bin.  The bathrooms are close and clean and the showers had  needlepoint pressure, so able to luxuriate for ages!  And today we got the WIFI code, so we’re online to the world.  And it’s quiet, no road noise, no trains nor planes - very peaceful.

Cumberland Mt State Park, great campsite
Distant thunder eventually drew closer late morning and rain fell during the afternoon.  A great day for planning our route leaving here and making some bookings.

The sun came out again later in the afternoon and it morphed into lovely evening, fire flies here too and squirrels and lots of birdlife.  The stars were bright, viewed through the canopy of trees.  And it was nice and cool during the night, conducive for a good night’s sleep, even need to pull up the blankie as some stage.
